Kathy Shirah started her career in mortgage banking in 1990 with Regions Mortgage, Incorporated. She has worked in various functions of the mortgage banking industry throughout her career, which includes loan processing, underwriting, closing, appraisal review, shipping, title insurance review, accounting, and marketing departments. During her career at Regions Mortgage, Inc. she received two Certificates of Accreditation from Mortgage Bankers of America as an Accredited Mortgage Banker.
Kathy joined Central Alabama Title Center in May of 2003 as an underwriter. She is licensed to write Title Insurance in the states of Alabama and Mississippi. In 2004 she became the first Certified Commercial Underwriter for Central Alabama Title. Kathy travels regularly teaching and educating Bankers & Attorneys about the importance of title insurance along with what makes up each component of a title insurance policy. Since 2005, she has served as an instructor at the Alabama Banking School which is held annually at The University of South Alabama, in Mobile, AL and in Montgomery, AL; which is hosted by the Alabama Bankers Association.
She is the creator of Living Money $mart ( in which they play the role of an adult and are responsible for household finances ) which is an all-volunteer financial education program taught to junior high and high school students in their schools throughout the state. Kathy has been married to her husband, Danny Since 1991 and she has two sons and two daughters in love, and two of the most perfect grandchildren.
